The Communications Center is the vital link between the community and the emergency services of the City of Arroyo Grande. The Police Department Records Unit is responsible for receiving, reviewing, filing and managing all the critical written documentation generated by the Department related to not only criminal activities but also most of the “routine” daily activities of the organization. Arroyo Grande Police Reserve Detective Zigelman has received extensive training in the area of computer-based crimes and is regularly sought as an expert consultant by local, state and even federal law enforcement agencies in computer-based crimes, and particularly computer crimes involving child pornography. The SRO works on-campus to provide an immediate response to threats to student safety, and fosters a positive relationship and a bond of trust between students and law enforcement in the school environment. More... School Crossing Guards
During the school year, the Police Department assigns four specially trained, part-time civilian Crossing Guards to intersections in the City that have been identified as presenting the most potential danger to children walking to school. More... Cadets
