The Police Department Records Unit is responsible for receiving, reviewing, filing and managing all the critical written documentation generated by the Department related to not only criminal activities but also most of the “routine” daily activities of the organization. The prevention of traffic accidents through traffic education and enforcement action is the primary focus of our Traffic Enforcement Unit. Two motorcycle officers conduct traffic enforcement and handle the majority of traffic accident investigations. More... K9 Program

Arroyo Grande Police Reserve Detective Zigelman has received extensive training in the area of computer-based crimes and is regularly sought as an expert consultant by local, state and even federal law enforcement agencies in computer-based crimes, and particularly computer crimes involving child pornography. The SRO works on-campus to provide an immediate response to threats to student safety, and fosters a positive relationship and a bond of trust between students and law enforcement in the school environment. More... School Crossing Guards
During the school year, the Police Department assigns four specially trained, part-time civilian Crossing Guards to intersections in the City that have been identified as presenting the most potential danger to children walking to school. More... Cadets
