Water Conservation Incentive Programs

Conserve Today, Preserve Tomorrow

Water conservation isn't a choice, it's a way of life. Please visit Think H20 Now website for the best ways to save water.

Rebates

Each year, over 50% of the City's water is used to water landscaping, with most of this water being used in the five months between May and September. To help offset the significant stress placed on our limited water resources by indoor use and landscape irrigation, the City offers the following water conservation rebate programs aimed at decreasing high water usage, saving you money:

  • Water Efficient Washing Machine Rebate Program -- The City of Arroyo Grande is offering a $200 rebate for water customers who purchase a water efficient washing machine. The property receiving the rebate must be a water customer of the City of Arroyo Grande. The applicant must also provide a legible copy of a dated sales receipt for purchase of the washing machine. Public Works staff will need to inspect the installation and model of the washing machine in order to process the rebate.

Cash for Grass Program

The City's Cash for Grass Program helps property owners convert water-thirsty grass to a water efficient landscape. The City will rebate water customers at a rate of $1.00 per square foot of grass removed. Rebates are "first come, first served" and the number of rebates is limited. Plumbing Retrofit Program

The City's Plumbing Retrofit Programs includes installation or adjustments of shower-heads, toilets, faucet aerators, and pressure regulators for single-family and multi-family residential units constructed prior to 1992.
